  • 1999-2000

    The CBB again takes first place in the Honors section of NABBA XVIII at the championships in Columbus hosted by the All-Star Brass Bands. The competition pieces (CD) are Music for the Common Man (Kenneth Downie), Canterbury Chorale (Jan van der Roost) and Folk Dances (Dmitri Shostakovich, arr. Torgny Hanson). Concerts were held at the Habitat for Humanity Benefit at Church of the Saviour (CD), with the Cincinnati Pops at Music Hall, with the UC-CCM Wind Symphony, at a benefit for the Emery Theatre, with the Ohio Valley British Brass Band at Dayton, at St. Marks United Methodist Church, Northminster Presbyterian Church, at the Fountain Square Re-Dedication, Hyde Park Community United Methodist Church with Dr. Grady Hallman, Euphonium Soloist, Ashland Brass Band Festival, a proclamation concert at Cincinnati City Hall, at President’s Park, Edgewood, KY and the Otterbein Home, Lebanon.

  • 2000-2001

    The CBB participates in NABBA XIX at Fort Myer, VA hosted by the US Army Brass Band and comes away with a fourth place finish in the Honors section. The competition pieces (CD) are The Shipbuilders (Peter Yorke), Hymn for Diana (Joseph Turrin) and A London Overture (Philip Sparke). Dick Moehlman, percussion, and.John Bales, bass trombone, retire from the band as members emeriti. Concerts were held at Miami Whitewater Park, the Shrine Auditorium, Habitat For Humanity Benefit at the Church of the Saviour, Kenwood Baptist Church, a Benefit for the Grambsch Family at Tri County Assembly of God, the 7th Annual Ashland Brass Band Festival, President’s Park, Edgewood, KY, with the Cincinnati Pops at Riverbend and Sawyer Point.

  • 2001-2002

    The band plays two concerts with the Cincinnati Pops featuring an Olympic theme. The CBB hosts the NABBA XX Championships in Sharonville at the Radisson Hotel and Princeton High School. The gala concert is given by the Brass Band of Battle Creek at the Tri-County Assembly of God. The CBB is invited to play at the Great American Brass Band Festival in Danville, KY, and also performs at the 7th Brass Band Festival in Ashland, KY. The band releases its first commercial CD, “Pressing Onward”. Other concerts include a benefit for Organ Donation with the Cincinnati Pops at Music Hall, Habitat for Humanity Benefit at the Church of the Saviour, a Salvation Army 9/11 Appreciation Concert with Sandi Patti at the Princeton Pike Church of God, Olympic Spirit concerts with the Cincinnati Pops at Music Hall, Fine Arts Showcase concert at College of Mt St Joseph, a joint concert with CCM Brass, a Seton High Concert, and community concerts in Terrace Park, Evendale, Blue Ash, Indian Hill, Sawyer Point and Urbana.
