The Music Director is responsible for the musical and artistic integrity of the Cincinnati
Brass Band (CBB) performances and to achieve the highest musical proficiency possible. The Music Director will conduct approximately 45 rehearsals and up to 15 performances per year including competing at the NABBA Championships.
The Music Director will also work with the committees of the band to execute on the CBB mission, to enrich the communities of greater Cincinnati by presenting inspired, engaging performances in the celebrated brass banding tradition. This includes working with a team to develop concert programs, select music, and engage guest artists and soloists.
The Music Director will participate on the CBB Board of Directors as a voting member and work to provide productive input to further the mission of the band.

Cincinnati Brass Band
The CBB was founded in 1993 and performs regularly throughout the greater-Cincinnati area. The 35 members of the CBB bring a signature sound founded in the British brass
band tradition. The Cincinnati Brass Band was proclaimed as the “Official Brass Band of
Cincinnati” by the Mayor of Cincinnati in recognition for contributions to the musical culture of Cincinnati.
The CBB is a member of the North American Brass Band Association (NABBA) which
sponsors an annual competition of the member bands from across the U.S. and Canada. The CBB entered their first NABBA competition in 1996.
The band pays the Music Director a monthly stipend.
